Organising Saved Prompts
As your prompt library grows, effective organisation becomes crucial. Learn how to search, edit, manage, and navigate between personal and team prompts to maintain a productive workflow.
Understanding Your Prompt Contexts
PromptCue organises your prompts into two main contexts that you can switch between:
- • Your private prompt library
- • Prompts you've saved individually
- • Only visible to you
- • Full edit and delete permissions
- • Prompts shared with your team
- • Visible to all organisation members
- • Shows prompt author information
- • Permissions based on your role
Switching Contexts
Use the workspace selector in the top navigation (next to your profile) to switch between "Personal" and your organisation workspaces. The Saved Prompts page will automatically update to show the relevant prompts for your current context.
Searching Your Prompts
The search function helps you quickly find specific prompts in your library:
Search Functionality
The search bar at the top of your Saved Prompts page searches through:
- • Prompt names and titles
- • Framework names (e.g., "RTCI", "CO-STAR")
- • Prompt content and parameters
Search Tips
🔍 Use specific keywords
Search for specific terms like "email", "product", "blog", or framework names like "RTCI".
Example: Search "email RTCI" to find all RTCI-based email prompts
📝 Search by framework type
Type framework names to see all prompts using that structure.
Example: Search "CO-STAR" to find all prompts using that framework
🏷️ Include purpose keywords
Search for the type of content or task you're looking for.
Example: Search "marketing" to find all marketing-related prompts
Managing Individual Prompts
Each saved prompt has several management options available through the action buttons:
Quickly copy the complete prompt text to your clipboard for immediate use in AI tools.
Available for all prompts you can view
Modify the prompt name and content. Changes are saved as a custom version of the original.
Only available for your own prompts
Permanently remove prompts from your library. Organisation owners can delete any shared prompt.
Cannot be undone - use carefully
Share personal prompts with your team by copying them to an organisation workspace.
Only available in personal context
Editing Saved Prompts
When you edit a saved prompt, you can modify both the name and the actual prompt content:

Click "Save Changes" to update your prompt
Organisation Prompt Management
When viewing organisation prompts, you'll see additional information and different permission levels:
Author Information
Each shared prompt shows who created it. Your own prompts are marked with "Your prompt" badge.
🔒 Permission Levels
- • Members: Can view and copy all shared prompts, edit/delete their own
- • Admins: Can edit and delete any shared prompt
- • Owners: Full management access to all organisation prompts

- • Include framework type in names
- • Regularly review and clean up old prompts
- • Test prompts before saving them
- • Share successful prompts with your team

- • Saving prompts with generic names
- • Keeping broken or outdated prompts
- • Deleting prompts without testing alternatives
- • Sharing untested prompts with teams
- • Ignoring organisation naming conventions
